Maher Centre hosts nikah ceremonies in Leicester for anything from close family to 1,000 seated guests. You bring your imam; we provide the stage, PA, a calm layout with segregated seating if you want it, an alcohol-free hall and a full 12 hours so the nikah, salah and meal never feel squeezed. Five to ten minutes from M1 Junction 21, with 350+ parking spaces.
The nikah itself is short and simple: the imam gives a khutbah, the mahr is confirmed, the bride’s consent is sought, the ijab and qabul (offer and acceptance) are made in front of two witnesses, and the nikah nama is signed. Then come the duas, the dates and the congratulations.
What the venue needs to get right is everything around it:

The things families sort out in the weeks before a nikah at Maher Centre.
Confirm your imam or officiant, the wali, and two witnesses. Share the imam’s timings with us so the stage and microphone are ready.
Agree who brings the nikah nama. Book the register office separately if you want the marriage legally registered.
Settle the mahr between the families beforehand, so the ceremony itself stays calm and focused.
Decide whether the couple sit together, how the men’s and women’s sides are arranged, and where elders sit.
Agree a prayer area with the event manager and check which prayer times fall during your event.
Choose a halal caterer from our partner network or bring your own. Plan dates, sweets and drinks for straight after the nikah.
An example only: every family’s day is different, and the event manager will build yours around your imam and prayer times.
Your caterer, décor and stage teams arrive about two hours before guests to dress the hall and prepare the kitchen.
Guests park on site and take their seats. Close family are seated nearest the stage on each side.
Khutbah, consent, ijab and qabul, witnesses, signing the nikah nama, then duas. Usually well under an hour.
Music stays off, guests pray in the agreed area, and the caterer holds food ready.
Dinner is served by your caterer, buffet or table service, with dates, sweets and chai to finish.
Many couples move straight into a reception, stage photos with family, or the rukhsati.
Final duas and goodbyes as guests head home.
Suppliers clear out. Full venue clean-up is included, so your family can go home.
A pillarless hall divides into two equal sides with a central aisle, or fully screened sections through your décor partner.
Bar and corkage packages are optional extras. Most nikah bookings never use them.
We don’t do catering. Use a caterer from our partner network or your own. Beef and pork are not served on the grounds.
A private, floodlit car park with attendants on duty: save a fortune on parking fines and save your guests from circling side streets.
Run by a Leicester charity since 1996. An event manager and caretaker are on duty for your whole event.
Start with a small nikah, or combine it with a reception for up to 1,000 seated guests on the same day.
There is no single right answer, and families do it in lots of ways:
