Maher Centre is Leicester’s largest events venue and a large wedding venue for 300 to 1,000 seated guests, or 800 with a dance floor and up to 1,500 standing. One 1,100m² single-storey hall with no pillars, a 350+ space private car park, an industrial kitchen for your caterer and a full 12-hour booking, five to ten minutes from M1 Junction 21.
Plenty of venues can squeeze in a big number. Fewer can do it with everyone in one room, seeing the couple, eating at the same time and parking without a fight. That is what we are built for.

If you are planning a wedding of 400 guests or more, these are usually the three choices. Here is how they compare in practice.
Comfortable and convenient, but many top out well below 1,000 guests, tie you to in-house menus and charge for parking. Check whether your caterer is allowed at all.
Flexible, but you are hiring flooring, heating, power, toilets, lighting and a kitchen tent, then hoping the weather behaves.
At Maher Centre the space, kitchen, lighting, PA, car park and staff are already there. You bring your caterer and décor team; we make it run smoothly.
Use this checklist on every venue tour, including ours.
Ask whether your full guest list fits in one space, seated, with a stage and a dance floor.
Walk to the back corners and check the view of the stage.
Count the on-site spaces and ask who manages the car park on the day.
And is there a proper kitchen for them to use?
At Maher Centre it is a full 12 hours, including set-up and pack-down.
Ask which staff are included and whether clean-up is part of the hire.
Lighting, screens, chandeliers, dance floors, and is there a price match?
At Maher Centre it is, along with free guest Wi-Fi and free parking.
Planning at the very top end? Our 1,000-guest wedding page covers the logistics, and the capacity page shows every layout.
Big guest lists are part of many wedding traditions. We host them all, and our partner network includes caterers, décor teams and DJs who know each style.
Mandap ceremonies and receptions: see Hindu weddings and Gujarati weddings.
Receptions after the Anand Karaj at the gurdwara: see Sikh wedding receptions.
Segregated layouts and alcohol-free events: see Muslim weddings.
Ceremonies and receptions: see Tamil weddings.
Receptions after the church service: see Christian wedding receptions.
Two traditions, one day. Use the 12-hour booking to fit both in without rushing.
Maher Centre does not do catering. You pick the caterer, from our partner network, who know the venue inside out, or your own team through our Partner Programme. Beef and pork are not served on the grounds of the Maher Centre; vegetarian, chicken, lamb and fish menus all work well.
Optional banqueting packages cover chairs, round tables, linen, cutlery, crockery and serving ware in three tiers: Essential, Classic (with chair covers) or Signature (with Chiavari chairs).
Want a bar? Corkage and bar hire come in three optional tiers, from bar facilities only up to bar staff and glassware. We can supply the drinks or refer you to a specialist bar company. Or skip it entirely: plenty of large weddings here are alcohol-free.

Tell us a little about your event and our events team will come back to you within one working day with availability and a written quote.
