Maher Centre hosts Telugu weddings and receptions for up to 1,000 seated guests in one pillarless 1,100m² hall in Leicester, 5 to 10 minutes from M1 Junction 21. Staging for your mandap is included, your caterer works from our industrial kitchen, and a full 12-hour booking gives your suppliers time to set up properly.
Families from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the wider Telugu community across the UK choose Maher Centre when the guest list is large and everyone needs to be in one room. The main hall has no pillars, so every guest has a clear view of the stage, whether you have 300 people or 1,000. We also host Tamil and other South Indian weddings, as well as Hindu weddings from many communities.
We are a practical venue. We provide the hall, the stage, the kitchen, the parking and a team on duty throughout. You bring your priest, your decorator and your caterer, or ask us to recommend suppliers from our partner network who already know the building.
Maher Centre has been run by a registered charity since 1996 and has grown mostly through word of mouth. If you are planning from elsewhere in the UK, we are easy to reach from Birmingham, Nottingham, Coventry and Northampton.

Yes. Many Telugu families have a muhurtham set by their priest, and it can fall at almost any hour. We plan the booking around your time.
Every booking covers a full 12 hours, including supplier set-up and pack-down. In practice that means your decorator can build the mandap, your caterer can get the kitchen going and the seating can be in place well before guests arrive. Nothing feels rushed, and nobody is dressing the stage while the priest is waiting.
When you enquire, send us the date, the muhurtham time and a rough guest count. Our events team will talk you through how the 12 hours can be arranged for your day when you book.
Customs vary between families, regions and communities, and your priest and elders will guide the order of the day. Here is how the hall supports the parts many families include.
If your family holds pellikuthuru and pellikoduku ceremonies for the bride and groom, the two private en-suite dressing rooms give each side a separate space to prepare.
Staging is included. Your decorator builds the mandap on it, with room for the priest, the couple and close family to sit together.
Where the cloth screen is held between the couple until the muhurtham, the pillarless hall means guests at the back can see the moment it is lowered.
For rituals such as talambralu, mangalsutra dharana and saptapadi, the full PA system carries the priest's voice across the hall.
Theatre-style rows for up to 1,500, or round tables if you prefer guests seated for the meal from the start.
Couples who change outfits between the ceremony and the reception can use the dressing rooms without leaving the building.
The hall is single-storey with step-free access throughout, accessible toilets and air-conditioning. Ambient LED lighting is built in, and free guest Wi-Fi is available. See capacity and layouts for floor plans.
Maher Centre does not do catering. Your family chooses the caterer and the menu. If you already have a caterer you trust, they are welcome through our Partner Programme. If not, we can recommend one from our partner network after meeting you.
Your caterer works from our industrial kitchen, which has four burners, a free gas supply and refrigeration. Beef and pork are not served on the grounds of the Maher Centre.
Optional banqueting packages cover chairs, round tables, linen, cutlery, crockery and serving ware, so your caterer can focus on the food.
Turn the hall from ceremony to reception with a dance floor for around 800 guests. Optional LED dance floor and LED screens are available.
