Maher Centre is Leicester's largest events venue: a 1,100m² pillarless hall on Ravensbridge Drive that seats 1,000 for a banquet and holds 1,500 theatre-style or standing. It has been run since 1996 by a registered charity, and almost every booking we've ever had came from someone who was a guest here first.

Maher Centre is operated by Maher Community Association (Leicester) UK, a registered charity (number 1039128). The charity has run the venue since 1996.
That shapes how we work. We're not a hotel chain chasing room nights, and we're not a faceless conference centre. We're a community-rooted venue that has spent three decades learning what Leicester's families, charities and businesses actually need on their big day, and quietly getting on with delivering it.

Mostly by word-of-mouth. For most of our history we've done very little advertising. A family comes to a cousin's wedding, sees 900 guests seated comfortably with nobody stuck behind a pillar, notices how easy the parking was, and a year later they're on the phone booking their own date. Businesses work the same way: a delegate at one conference becomes the organiser of the next.
Over the years the hall has hosted weddings from many faiths and cultures (Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Somali and South Indian among them) alongside conferences, AGMs, awards dinners, charity galas, Diwali celebrations and boxing nights. We take care to understand each tradition properly, so the day runs the way your family expects it to.
The heart of Maher Centre is one large, single-storey, air-conditioned hall with ambient LED lighting and a full PA system. Because it's pillarless, every layout works: long banquet rows, round tables around a dance floor, theatre-style rows facing a stage, or a boxing ring in the middle with tables all round.

Every booking includes an event manager and caretaker on duty, three car park and WC attendants, and a full venue clean-up afterwards. Bookings cover a full 12 hours including supplier set-up and pack-down, so nothing ever feels rushed.
We don't do in-house catering. Instead, we have an incredible network of partners: caterers, decorators and DJs who know the venue inside out. Once we've met you in person, we'll recommend the partners best suited to your day. If you already have a supplier you love, they're welcome through our Partner Programme. One house rule to know early: beef and pork are not served on the grounds of the Maher Centre.
