The floor

Why does a pillarless, single-storey hall matter for exhibitions?

Ask any exhibitor about the worst stand they ever had and you will usually hear about a pillar, a dead-end corner or a staircase that kept visitors away. Maher Centre avoids all three. The main hall is one open floor on a single level, so you can plan a clean grid of stands with every aisle visible from the entrance.

That makes life simpler for organisers selling stand space too. Without pillars, there are fewer awkward pitches to discount, and visitors circulate naturally rather than bunching in one corner.

What the hall gives you

  • 1,100m² of open floor with no pillars
  • Up to 1,500 visitors standing at any one time
  • Single storey: no lifts or stairs for kit or visitors
  • Air-conditioned throughout for a comfortable show day
  • Full PA system for announcements and seminar talks
  • An event manager and caretaker on duty throughout

Build and break

How does exhibitor load-in work within the 12-hour booking?

Every booking includes a full 12 hours, covering build, the show itself and breakdown. Here is one way to use it.

Build (about 2 hours)

Exhibitors and stand builders arrive at agreed times, unload in the car park and bring kit in on the same level as the hall.

Doors open

Visitors drive in, park free and walk straight into the show. Our attendants keep the car park moving.

Show day

Up to around eight hours of trading, talks and networking, with WC attendants keeping facilities fresh.

Breakdown (about 2 hours)

Stands come down without a rush. Our team takes care of the full venue clean-up.

Visitor numbers

Why do exhibitions at Maher Centre attract good footfall?

Free parking is a draw

More than 350 free spaces in a privately owned, floodlit car park. Visitors don’t have to budget for parking or worry about a ticket.

Easy to find

15 Ravensbridge Drive, Leicester LE4 0BZ, 5–10 minutes from M1 Junction 21. A simple trip from Birmingham, Nottingham, Coventry and Northampton.

Evening shows work

The floodlit car park makes after-work shows feel safe and simple.

Room to linger

Air conditioning, step-free access, accessible toilets and space to move mean visitors stay longer and visit more stands.

Talks and demos

Use the PA system and included staging for a seminar corner, add LED screens for presentations, and free guest Wi-Fi keeps demos and card payments connected.

A quiet base

Two private en-suite dressing rooms can serve as an organiser’s office, speaker room or VIP lounge.

Suppliers and refreshments

Can exhibitors and organisers bring their own suppliers?

Yes. Stand builders, AV companies, furniture hire firms and signage suppliers are welcome through our Partner Programme. We just ask that suppliers agree access times and anything unusual with your event manager before the day.

For visitor refreshments, Maher Centre does not cater in-house. Choose a caterer from our partner network, who know the venue inside out, or bring your own. They work from an industrial kitchen with four burners, a free gas supply and refrigeration. A coffee bar, hot food counter or exhibitor lunch boxes are all options. Beef and pork are not served on the grounds of the Maher Centre.

Common questions

Exhibition questions, answered plainly.

How big is the exhibition space at Maher Centre?
The main hall offers 1,100m² of open, single-storey floor with no pillars. It can hold up to 1,500 people standing, so there is room for a stand layout and a busy flow of visitors.
How many exhibition stands can you fit?
It depends on stand sizes, aisle widths and whether you want a seminar or catering area. Send us your stand sizes and target number and we will help you plan a floor layout that fits.
How do exhibitors load in?
Exhibitors build during the set-up time included in your 12-hour booking. The venue is single-storey, so there are no stairs or lifts between the car park and the hall. Agree vehicle arrival times and any large or heavy items with your event manager in advance.
Can exhibitors get power on their stands?
Talk to us about power requirements when you plan your floor layout, so we can advise on what is available at each stand position.
Is parking free for visitors and exhibitors?
Yes. Maher Centre has a privately owned, floodlit car park with more than 350 free spaces, staffed by three car park attendants during your event.
Can we offer food and drink to visitors?
Yes, through a caterer from our partner network or your own caterer via the Partner Programme. Maher Centre does not cater in-house. Beef and pork are not served on the grounds of the Maher Centre.
